Give your time.
Help a neighbor find their way.

Volunteering with myWaypoint directly helps us reach more individuals and families across Pennsylvania. Whether you enjoy meeting people at community events, lending a hand in the office, or representing myWaypoint in the business community, there is a way for you to help. No special background is required, just a willingness to support your neighbors.

Ways to get involved

01

Community outreach

If you love getting involved and meeting new people, help us show up where families are. Volunteers support community events and fairs, other nonprofit events, and workshops, and staff booths at partner locations in the community.

02

Office support

Our team is always busy, and office volunteers keep things moving. That can mean administrative help like coordinating shredding events and sorting files, client check-in calls, marketing and communications support such as newsletters and copywriting, and helping coordinate other volunteers.

03

Ambassador program

Ambassadors represent myWaypoint in the business community. As an ambassador, you might represent us alongside your own organization at events like chamber mixers, share your professional expertise, including on a committee, help amplify our work on social media, and connect employers with financial wellness programs that could benefit their staff.

Frequently asked questions

What do myWaypoint volunteers do?

Volunteers help in three main ways: community outreach at events, fairs, and workshops; office support such as administrative tasks, client check-in calls, and marketing help; and the ambassador program, which represents myWaypoint in the business community. You can choose the role that fits your interests and schedule. Every hour helps us reach more Pennsylvania families with free financial and housing counseling.

No. Most volunteer roles need enthusiasm and reliability, not financial expertise. Counseling itself is delivered by our certified counselors, while volunteers help with outreach, office support, and community representation. If you do have professional expertise to share, the ambassador program is a great fit, but it is not required to get involved.

The ambassador program is for people who want to represent myWaypoint in the business community. Ambassadors attend business events such as chamber mixers alongside their own organization, share professional expertise, help spread the word on social media, and connect employers with financial wellness programs for their staff. It is a flexible way to extend our reach and open doors to new partnerships.
